Dan Brennan Wed Apr 30 1997
O'BRIEN : Herkimer, Herkimer, NY. The SSDI lists three O'BRIENS; Anne (1904-1987), Thomas (1908-1978) and Walter (1879-1966) Is anyone familiar with this family? Is this the O'Brien family that lived in Utica in 1921? Were Anne and Thomas the children of Walter? Was Walter a Civil Engineer who was married to Anne BRENNAN (or BRINNING) of Watertown, NY? I am attempting to trace all the descendants of my Brennan family from Franklin and St. Lawrence Co.'s. The O'Briens I am looking for would be descended from Henry Brennan (1855-?) who used an anglicized version of the Brennan name - Brinning. Dan Brennan.

BELLINGER- Jost Bellinger, son of Col. Peter Bellinger, and John I. Bellinger, son of John P. (? Peter) Bellinger (Soldier of the Revolution, as stated on his tombstone). John I. was born 1772 and he had a brother Jost, born 1783. John I. married Catherine PETRIE. Jost BELLINGER is listed as a prisoner of the war in Clinton's Papers, Vol. IV, page 723. His name is listed next to Stephen EYSAMAN. [Stephen Eysaman's wife, child and parents were killed by Indians @ German Flatts, NY. He was captured June 9, 1779 and taken by the British to Canada. He was released December 1782. He married 2nd, Anna Eva PETRIE (d. Feb. 13, 1823 @ age 55). Stephen Eysaman and wife then settled in the Black Lake, NY area.] A Maria Bellinger, a descendent of Col. Peter Bellinger, married Jacob Eysaman, said to be a pensioner of the War of 1812, and they lived in Little Falls until 1824 when they moved to Black Lake (St. Lawrence. Co.), NY.

This is a portion of family notes that my (now deceased) grandmother had collected. I am having difficulty figuring out how these names fit into the EYSAMAN branch of my family tree. Any help in recognizing these names, with any other data, would be of much help. The area involved seems to be the Mohawk Valley region, Herkimer/Little Falls, and then the St. Lawrence County, Black Lake area, where the Eysaman Homestead was for 4 to 5 generations. My grandfather was Leon John Eysaman (b. 1903), his father was James Leon Eysaman (b. June 2, 1878), who's father was Philomena E. Eysaman (b. and d. @ Black Lake, NY), and his father was James Eysaman (he had a brother Frank Eysaman). At this time is where I would figure Stephen and/or Jacob would enter the family tree.

Benny Klock Sun Apr 20 1997
I'm researching my KLOCK surname and believe I am a descendent of Johannes Klock, the builder of Ft Klock in St Johnsville. I would like to find out how I can obtain copies of birth, marriages, death, wills, and any other interesting information as to how my ancestors participated in the history of Montgomery County. Here is what I have:

Hendrick Klock, b.1663 in Kassel, Hessen , Germany, d. 1760, buried in Old Fort Klock Cemetary; married Maria Margaretha Schopferin, b. abt 1665 in Holland; Children were:

These names were obtained from FHC records and cited the Saint Johnsville Dutch Reformed Church for some of the information. It was not clear which children were born in Germany, and which were born in Montgomery County. For example, the records list Magdelena as being born in 1687 in Palatine, Mont. Co., and Johan Henrich as being born in 1693 in Germany. This is possible, but I don't think it likely? It looks as if Hendrick Klock may be the common ancestor to all of the Klocks. His children each had 9 or 10 children, so after 6 generations, that's a lot of Klocks! Benny Klock.

My 4th g-grandfather, Lewis COBES CLEMENT, worked for him in the Indian Dept. for several years and I understand that he is mentioned on several occasions in Sir William's papers. I would very much like to find the references and the circumstances surrounding them. I am completing my Clement Family History (UEL branch) and hoping at some stage to write a book. I would like to fill in more of the early history on the Clement and associated families and their early lives in the Mohawk Valley. Can you help? I am willing to buy a copy of the microfilm if it is available for sale. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks. Lee Harris (Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia).

Are trying to locate my husband's family. We think that his g-grandmother, May DUNHAM Tull (1869 -1939) came from Herkimer County. She was full-blooded Indian, possibly Mohawk, but we don't know exactly from what tribe she came. We do know that she married Henry TULL (1863 -1940) The only child that we know of is Anna Tull ( 1887 -1931), who is my husband's grandmother, and she married George CLARK(E) (1886 -1946). Anna and George lived on Dunham Hill Road in the Town of Maine, Broome County until their deaths and are buried in Endicott, NY. They had two sons, John Henry and Dever, and three daughters. If any one can shed some light on this for us, especially how to research Herkimer area Native American tribes, we would be grateful.
