Searching for any info. on my 4th g-grandfather Nahum DANIELS, who arrived in Herkimer county in the 1790's. He lived around Poland, and mar. his 1st wife Ann, who died giving birth to their 1st child George Cook Daniels. She is buried in Poland. I believe that Ann's surname was COOK, sister of George Cook, who came to the area also in the 1790s. I also believe Nahum came from Mendon MA, a son of Joseph Daniels and Margaret FRENCH. George Cook Daniels later moved to Hammond, St Lawrence Co., and subsequently on to Wisconsin, in 1845. Any info would be greatly appreciated by myself, and at least 3 other researchers- especially info regarding Nahum's 1st wife's surname, and any evidence of his birthplace. Nahum's 2nd wife was Susan ENOS. Thanks for the opportunity to post this query in what seems a quality site!

WORMOOD (possibly WORMWOOD): Peter (1800-18940), four of his children who died in infancy, his wife Aphleda JANES and his mother Catherine (Unknown) are buried in the Christ Church cemetary in Manlius. From records I have come across, name is spelled WORMWOOD on grave markers but obits show Wormood. (Have entered the obits onto the obit section on this site.) His father was John Wormood (?-1832). Any knowledge of this family prior to 1810 is needed. Family moved from Cherry Valley to Manlius in 1807 but can find nothing on John or possibly even his brothers Manlius and Peter. Appears this name could be from the same as WERMUTH, WARMUTH, WOERMUTH all serving "Montgomery" county during the Revolution, which at that time would have included Cherry Valley. One brother of John's was killed at Cherry Valley but cannot locate any record of such.
