The presentation of the original burial records of Van Vechten Cemetery, Town of Florida, was a collaborative effort. We were originally put in touch with Mr. Al McKinlay, who has for 37 years been superintendent of Van Vechten Cemetery and keeper of the original burial record book, by Ray Anderson (contributor of the Scotch Church burial and removal list), who took the initiative to contact Al about transcribing the records. Thank you, Ray. Al sent me a copy of the original book, written in different hands over the many years that this cemetery has been active. These were typed up and emailed back to him for proofing and organization into a format reflecting the original plot numbers. Having these finally typed up was beneficial for Al as now the original records won't have to be handled when people visit him.

This has been a much requested cemetery, now (1999) a valuable online reference for Town of Florida family researchers and Mohawk Valley historians. Van Vechten Cemetery is noted for being the resting place of many persons of Scottish descent. Al would be interested in receiving information about persons and families named below.
