Edward Davies of No. 1330 Midland avenue, engineer of Train No. 16, injured in the New York Central wreck Monday, is in a critical condition in St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, "The injured engineer is holding his own but little hope is held for his recovery," was the latest report given out at St. Mary's last night.

Mrs. Davies arrived in Amsterdam last night and stayed with her husband all day yesterday.  Besides a fracture of the skull, the Syracuse engineer is suffering from shock and many lacerations.

- Engineer Davis, of Train No. 16, whose skull was fractured in last Monday's wreck, continues to improve under the care of Dr. Canna, at St. Mary's Hospital.
