ZIMMERMAN/TIMMERMAN/HERKIMER: Interested in information on Henry HERKIMER b. 1764, m. Catherine ZIMMERMAN. They had son Alonzo Herkimer who m. Mary FRAZEY. I have no info at all on Mary's parents. Have Herkimer line traced fairly well back to George b. ca 1650/70..wife Magelena ? He was born Sandhausen, Germany.

I'm also also looking for info on Anna PETRIE bap. 1700, m. Johan H. bef. 1722. She was the daughter of Johannes PETRIS and Anna Von RINGH. No other info on them. Capt. Hendrick Herkimer m. Catherine DYGERT??? No other info on her family.

We have had this family line rather at the bottom of our list and have decided that it was time to find out about the mother's side of the family. Her father was an ATWOOD and her grandfather married Emeline Herkimer. We really don't have much info on any of these allied lines. Would be happy to exchange any info I have. Thanks very much! COFFIN, Ina May: Ina May Coffin was born abt. 1882. When she was about 23 she lived in Little Falls, Herkimer county, NY. On 19 May 1905 she married Sidney M. Van ALLEN. They both were from Little Falls, but were married at the Herkimer Baptist Church. I'm looking for anything about Ina May Coffin. That marriage lasted about two years and I'd like to know if there were any children from this union. In December 1907 Sidney Van Allen married my grandmother. No one in my family knew about this marriage until I started my genealogy research in the spring of 1996. The 1905 NYS census shows them residing in Little Falls, and Sidney was a Little Falls fireman. Paul Van Allen. New Hartford, NY. PWatkins@borg.com

Lonnie Richardson Tues Dec 24 1996
I have one presumed ancestor in Herkimer Co., a Joseph RICHARDSON. I have a land record dated in 1793 showing him at German Flats and selling land in Lebanon, Ct. I believe this Joseph to be the Joseph Richardson that lived and raised a family in Lebanon, CT. His first wife was Elizabeth WISE whom he married 23 Nov. 1749. Children:

Abigail married John TORREY and removed to Genesee Co., NY. The name Roswell I believe to be a misprint and should be ROSSEL and he removed to Leister, Ontario, Co. (now Livingston Co.) NY. Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciated.

NOTE: Lonnie's page is at http://www.nvsn.com/lrichard. If you're thinking of making your own page of family information, this an excellent example of clear presentation and thorough research techniques.

Marvin Hubenthal Sun Dec 22 1996
I was hoping someone in Montgomery County could give us suggestions of where to look next. We are trying to trace the history of John Klaus HUBENTHAL and Susanna nee SCHUNK. We have found the following document in some family records: Friedrich Wilhelm, legitimate son of Johann Klaus Hubenthal and his wife Susanna, born on the 25th February 1840 and the holy baptism received on the 19th May of the same year. Witnesses at the above-named ceremonial rite were Johann PRIL and his wife Juliana. Extracted from the church book of the German Lutheran parish of Fort Plain, Montgomery County, State of New York. Under Pastor Faith, Christian Wilhelm Schmitz, pastor Fort-Plain, 13 March 1841.(Original in German which would appear to be a statement of baptism for transfer to another church.

On June 2, 1841 John Klaus purchased land in Germantown, Washington County, WI. On the same day so did Jacob Schunk and Michael BALHEIM. Thus, it is likely the three families traveled to Wisconsin together. Jacob was married to Anna Maria NELLIS of New York and appears to be a brother of Susanna.

In checking at the LDS library, there does not appear to be any church records from Fort Plains available at this time. Is this correct? Second, on Friedrich's marriage license, it is stated he was born in New York City. Is this likely? Friedrich was the second child. John was born two years earlier, also in New York. Any suggestions on where to start looking?

My great- grandmother Rebecca GRIFFIN was supposedly the daughter of Angela or Angelique JOHNSON supposedly the grand- daughter of Sir William Johnson, whose son John had children by Clarissa PUTMAN before he was married. I have traced Margaret Johnson who inherited Sir William's pew in the Schenectady Episcopal Church but I have not located William Johnson who I presume is Angela's father. There may have been more children between Clarissa and John. The history books say Clarissa and her children were the only Johnsons who remained in America. I have traced Sir John and his children by Mary WATTS and surprisingly the name Clarissa appears among Sir John's grandchildren several times.

I have a 9700 name database on early New York settlers who are my ancestors, mostly from Greene county. I have made contact with a researcher out west who has a 23000 name database on Greene and Albany and other counties and we are cousins seven different ways. Am willing to share my database which is in gedcom form. The surnames are Albright, Bedell/Beadle,Douw/Dow, Vanvechten, Vanburen, Hotaling/Houghtaling/Hoogteeling, Cary, Lajeune, Traver, Parslow, Hallenbeck, Rivenburg/Rivenburgh, Whitbeck/Vonwhitbeck/Witbeek, Dederick, Brandow, Vanloon, Bronk, Dies, Vanbergen, Schuneman, Johnson.

My ggrandparents, Lowell and Mary Ann (BRANT) HAMILTON are buried in Old Forge Cemetery located in the Village of Old Forge, Town of Webb, Herkimer Co., NY. I am looking for information about their daughter Margaret Almira Hamilton b. 6/16/1879 and died 8/1/1930. She married H. Frederick ELLMERS(ELMERS) on 10/26/1915. I would like to know if she is also buried in the Old Forge Cemetery or another cemetery nearby. I would also like to know if her husband H. Frederick Ellmer, b. 8/7/1880, is buried with her. I don't know when he died or even if he remarried. If he did remarry, he might be buried with his 2nd wife. I think the Ellmers had a house on Twitchell Lake, a lake in the Town of Webb, Herkimer County, located not too far northeast of Big Moose. Any information that can be found will be greatly appreciated. Richard Lumley, 201 Main Street, Gouverneur, NY 13642; email lum@aldus.northnet.org
