TEFFT, Daniel: Daniel Tefft was born in 1796. In the 1850 census he had a farm in St Johnsville, Montgomery County, New York. Daniel married Elizabeth VAN ALLEN born 1802. They married 10 March 1844. He was 48, and Elizabeth was 42 when they married. In the1850 census there were 2 Van Allen children living with them - Warren 14 and Lyman 11. I don't know if Elizabeth Van Allen was her maiden name or her married name from a previous marriage. I am assuming that this was not a first marriage for either. I need information about Elizabeth Van Allen Tefft before her 1844 marriage, or about her death and cemetery location. Paul Van Allen

Looking for parents, siblings, any relatives of Peter RINEHARD or his wife Perlina BRICE. She was married first to Ebenitus COLLIER and had three young children when he was killed by robbers or Indians. She placed two of the children (Marian and John Francis) for adoption or otherwise gave them up, but kept the infant Ebenitus Jr. She is thought to have married Peter about 1819 or 1820 . They were both said to have been born in Herkimer Co., I think about 1794. Five of their 7 children were born in Madison Co (perhaps Nelson). In 1833 they went to Chautauqua Co. Both Peter and Perlina's fathers were supposed to have served in the Rev. War, but I don't know their names or where they were from. This Rinehard family came to NY in about 1710 or 1711 and settled in the Mohawk Valley. Please e-mail me with any possibilities.

Jacob is reported to have carried on a meat market and canal grocery in Little Falls. He was the father of seven children. [Some of this came from Frothingham, Washington, ed. History of Montgomery County: published in 1892]. I am trying to document the rest. Any further leads would be appreciated.
