I am looking for references to the CADY name in Montgomery County area. There was an Ebenezer and Edwin Cady mentioned in the Charlestown Township directory listing Ebenezer as a spinner and Edwin as a farmer. There is no further listing of these names in any cemetery for that area. I would like to know if these individuals moved from that area and when? My Cady family Alanson b. 1815 had a son named Ebenezer, but these Cadys were located in Pa. after 1840. E-mail me if you have any info regarding the final whereabouts of Ebenezer and Edwin Cady. John Heath Mitchell Thu 26 Feb 1998
My ancestors on my mothers side relocated from Sharon, CT in or around 1801 to Little Falls, NY. Hezekiah HEATH from CT and started the H. Heath and Sons bakery and confectioners shop. I have found excellent information about Hezekiah's family during their time in CT and MA (some England) but have been unable to find information on the NY Heaths. I am sure there are still Heaths living in Little Falls.

My mother's father, Thurber Heath, left Little Falls in early 1920s and moved back to Haverhill, MA. Haverhill was the first home of the Heaths in the new world around 1634 when Bartholomew Heath came here on the ship called "the Lion" from Naezing, England (about 20 miles north of London.)

I would be extremely interested in any information readers would be willing to share about the NY Heaths. Several of us from around the country are having difficulty with finding any info. Your info. would be greatly appreciated. John Heath Mitchell, Bridgewater, MA. Email: jmitch1114@aol.com

I am seeking any information about the families of Jacob VOORHEES, who lived in Glen Township, Montgomery County from about 179? to 185?, about sixty years. I believe he was the Jacob Voorhees who married Cathrine LANE in Marlatsbush in 1796, raised a family which included daughters, and later married Ruth BOND. With her he had children, Jacob, Henry, Lewis, Benjamin Frank, Maria, and David. I am particularly interested in his death date and burial place, and his birth date (about 1775) and birthplace (somewhere in New Jersey), but any information will be gratefully received. Thank you. Jack Wirth Sat 21 Feb 1998
My name is Jack Wirth and I am trying to trace the ancestry of Simeon BRANT. The 1790 census of New York shows a Simeon Brant in or around the town of Canajaharie, living with a wife and two sons. Family lore suggests that he had a son, also Simeon, who married Sarah HARRINGTON. Such a second Simeon is found in the 1800 census living in Otsego Co. (Butternut Twp.)while the elder Simeon appears to move to Cayuga Co., the town of Milton. Later, the younger Simeon moves to Wayne Co. and finally to Michigan where I grew up.

Family lore suggests that the elder Simeon's father's name was Phineas. In addition, the 1790 location of the family coincides with the location of Joseph Brant, the Mohawk who fought for the British against the French and against the USA revolution. Any connection? Also, family lore suggests that the elder Simeon had a brother John. Would appreciate any help in researching the Brant family tree. Sincerely, Jack Wirth. Email: JWirth1463@aol.com

WAFFLE, William was born in Montgomery County 15 September 1764. He married Elizabeth DORNBURGER. Seeking other researchers of these names to share information. I have two dates for "the raid as part of the Battle of Stone Arabia": 19 October 1780, and 19 October 1790. Which is correct? Some of my Waffle (or WEIBLE or WABEL or WAFEL) ancestors lost their property or their lives in that raid... Thanks to anyone who can help. Tom Bombaci, Jr. Grants, NM

Perry Abbott Fri 20 Feb 1998
I am trying to find information on my g-g-great grandfather John S. ABBOTT. The last name may have been spelled with only one "t". The middle name may be SEWELL. The information that I have is that he was from Herkimer Co., NY. His first or second child was Loyal Chauncey Abbott, who was born February 3, 1826 in NY and died October 1,1897 in Vinton, IA. Considering the date of Loyal's birth John must have been born in the late 1700's or early 1800's. His wife's name was Lucinda (maiden name CORSON). They moved to Erie Co. NY between 1826 and 1835. They then moved to Lucas Co., Ohio in 1838. John died in Lucas Co., Ohio in about 1856. I do not know when Lucinda died. Thank you. Perry Abbott. Email: perry.abbott@lmco.com

SAVAGE - I am searching for information about Eva SAVAGE born abt 1770, probably in Westfield Twp, Hampden Co., Mass. One sources shows Eva as a child of John Savage from England with three brothers, William, Daniel and Roger all born in Westfield Twp, and married to Justice WINCHELL in 1787 in Westfield Twp. Another source indicates she was a child of William Savage and Martha GIPSON, born in Mohawk Valley, Herkimer, NY, and married to Justice Winchell there in 1783. Eva and Justice settled in Hebron, Washington, NY and had a family of 8 children. I'm trying to establish who Eva's parents really were and learn more about the family. I will appreciate any information I can get. Donald G. Hill, Email: hilldong@aol.com
