High Water in Fort Hunter 16 Mar 1912
Amsterdam Daily Recorder Headline: "Schoharie river overflowed its banks at Fort Hunter, damaging Union school house and dwellings and obstructing West Shore tracks with ice."
My grandmother, born in 1894, grew up in Fort Hunter. She moved to Amsterdam about 1911 but her extended family were still in Fort Hunter. After this high water event in Fort Hunter she purchased the following real photo postcards published by A. Hardies and placed them in her photo album.
