MONTGOMERY COUNTY PLACE NAMES

Montgomery County is composed of 10 Townships: Amsterdam, Canajoharie, Charleston, Glen, Florida, Minden, Mohawk, Palatine, Root and St. Johnsville. A lot of places called "Corners" are just intersections in the highway, but many carry the same names as found in inquiries. Since I did not have an "official" list to work with, the contemporary places names below were taken from maps. If you spot any omissions or errors, or know of any no-longer-existing place names, please contact the Coordinator. We have recently (8/20/97) added former place names in the Town of Root.
