The family moved to Fillmore Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota in 1856. Does anyone have more information on this family and their ancestors? When did the Hoffs emmigrate from Germany. etc.?

He is also listed in 1855 NY census as HUFF. I do know that he moved to Minnesota about 1856. Any insights greatly appreciated. I am descended from a John HOFF and his wife Eva CORNU who were married in Glen. John is, I believe, a descendant of Richard Hoff, Sr. of Glen, Montgomery County, NY. Whereas I can document descent from other families in this region (e.g., Van EP(P)S, Van ANTWERP, CORNU, du TRIEUX, and many other of the old Dutch and Walloon settler families), I have had no luck with the Hoff connection beyond John. It is possible that he is a son or grandson of Richard, Sr. If anyone has information about John's parents or could put me in contact with other genealogical researchers focusing on the Hoff family, I would be most grateful. Best regards.

Looking for help researching a HOFFMAN family line: Silas I. HOFFMAN, born Dec. 12, 1857, at Little Falls died March 19, 1928 at St. Johnsville in Montgomery Co. He was a son of Jacob HOFFMAN [abt.1826 d. June 17, 1863] and Margaret (FUSSELMAN) Hoffman [b. July 16, 1824 d. April 14, 1869] and grandson of Simon HOFFMAN [b. abt. 1795 in Germany and d. September 02, 1865 in Little Falls].
Jacob is reported to have carried on a meat market and canal grocery in Little Falls. He was the father of seven children. [Some of this came from Frothingham, Washington, ed. History of Montgomery County: published in 1892]. I am trying to document the rest. Any further leads would be appreciated.
HOKE - Looking for confirmation that the parents of Philip Hoke (b. abt 1787 - d. aft 1850) were John (b. abt 1765) and ?? Hoke. They seem to have been the only Hokes in the area. I know Philip lived in Otsego County by 1820 w/ wife Eve ?? (also need her maiden name) with 7 children and one of their sets of parents. John Hoke lived in Palatine Town, Montgomery County with wife and 6 children in 1800. One of Philip's siblings may have been Laurence Hoke who also lived in Otsego County by 1820.

HOLLENBECK, SHAW: Seeking information on the family and origins of Mary HOLLENBECK (b. 20 Aug 1756; d. 27 Jul 1817) married 13 Nov 1782 in Johnstown, Montgomery (later Fulton) Co. NY to Comfort SHAW (1759-1799), son of Daniel and Mary (GARDINER) Shaw of Rensselaer Co. NY.
Mary was the daughter of John Hollenbeck, who would have been b. ca.1726 and is said to be "of Amsterdam, Holland;". More likely he was of Amsterdam =township=, Montgomery Co. Comfort Shaw was enumerated in the 1790 Census of Caughnawaga Town (later Fonda), Montgomery Co., fourteen houses away from a John Hollenbeck who appears to be the individual (b. 14 Feb 1751) who m. 30 Dec 1777 in Caughnawaga (Fonda) to Anna Margaret ERGERSINGER or ARACKSINGER.
The widow Shaw disappeared in the 1800 Census, but in 1810 two of her sons (Daniel and John) were enumerated in Montgomery Co. I will be grateful for any information or leads on these early Fonda families. Thank you.

I am researching these families in the Herkimer (East Schuyler) area: Jonathan HOUGH, Zephaniah Hough ( b.Sept. 28, 1760 d. June 5, 1840) and Benjamin Hough. Jonathan is the father of Zeph and Ben. Zephaniah Hough was a Rev War soldier and was in the Mass. Line and NY line, mostly Mass. His general was Henry Jackson. Their residence in Herkimer would be post-Revolutionary War period and I am trying to find the burial places of these people. So far I have not found them although I know where they lived and when they died. I have tried the historical society and the lists of cemeteries and no luck. Since there is an exact death date for Zeph, there should be a burial place somewhere. I would appreciate any additional information about them.

HOYT/HUSTED Searching for Abraham Husted, b. 12 Mar1779, d. 28Apr1858 and married Anna Hoyt, b. 30 Aug 1785, d. 10 Apr1853. They supposedly removed from Johnstown, Fulton County about 1827 to Oswego, where they both died and are buried. No record can be found of them in Fulton or Montgomery County. Perhaps they were in Dutchess or Westchester Counties. My best information remains that their children, at least, were born near Johnstown. Any information would be appreciated.
Marvin Hubenthal Sun Dec 22 1996
I was hoping someone in Montgomery County could give us suggestions of where to look next. We are trying to trace the history of John Klaus HUBENTHAL and Susanna nee SCHUNK. We have found the following document in some family records: Friedrich Wilhelm, legitimate son of Johann Klaus Hubenthal and his wife Susanna, born on the 25th February 1840 and the holy baptism received on the 19th May of the same year. Witnesses at the above-named ceremonial rite were Johann PRIL and his wife Juliana. Extracted from the church book of the German Lutheran parish of Fort Plain, Montgomery County, State of New York. Under Pastor Faith, Christian Wilhelm Schmitz, pastor Fort-Plain, 13 March 1841. (Original in German which would appear to be a statement of baptism for transfer to another church.
On June 2, 1841 John Klaus purchased land in Germantown, Washington County, WI. On the same day so did Jacob Schunk and Michael BALHEIM. Thus, it is likely the three families traveled to Wisconsin together. Jacob was married to Anna Maria NELLIS of New York and appears to be a brother of Susanna.
In checking at the LDS library, there does not appear to be any church records from Fort Plains available at this time. Is this correct? Second, on Friedrich's marriage license, it is stated he was born in New York City. Is this likely? Friedrich was the second child. John was born two years earlier, also in New York. Any suggestions on where to start looking?

Leander WOOD(W)ARD was born in Herkimer Co., NY, in 1806 and died in Pompey, Onondaga Co., NY in 1882. He married Almira HUBBARD about 1840. Almira was born in Winfield, Oneida Co., NY, in 1812. Her parents were Francis Hubbard and Mary Mann. Francis was from the Sunderland/Hatfield, MA, Hubbard family. Trying to prove that Ozias WOOD(W)ARD and Nancy HUBBARD (who lived in Winfield, Oneida Co., and sold property in Herkimer Co., NY, in 1817 and 1828) are parents of Leander. Leander and Ozias both later appeared in Pompey, Onondaga Co., NY.
