In 1821-22 James PADGETT and Sarah VAN BUREN were in Montgomery County, NY, probably near Amsterdam, when their daughter, Elizabeth was born about 1821(?). Elizabeth married Conrad LINGENFELTER, b. 1816, of same county in 1839 and moved to Jefferson Co. Sarah VAN BUREN PADGETT may have died after the birth of a son, James, in 1836. James, Sr. moved to Oxford, Chenango Co., about 1842. Can anyone help me identify the parentage of Sarah VAN BUREN and James PADGETT. Any info on the Padgett's of Montgomery County will be gladly received. I will share my 1855 census tracking in Chenango County. Thank you. Shirley Farone.

I am looking for information on one, maybe two individuals named Judson PERRY. He is listed in the 1800 VT census, again in the 1810 (Herkimer County, Russia) and 1860 NY census, and the 1840 and 1850 CT census. The facts that I have are that he was born in 1809, was married to an Aurelia F. COATES in Hebron, CT in 1831 and lived in Montville CT where he died in 1856. He had three children: Almon Franklin Perry b.1832 (from whom I have descended), Theodore I. Perry, b. 1835, and Amanda A. Perry, b. 1842.
It is my suspicion that there are two Judson Perrys. I believe that the senior Judson was listed in the VT (Rutland area, possibly Castleton or Tinmouth) as a young single man, moved to NY where he married and in the 1810 Herkimer County census had a son and daughter under 10 yrs of age. The son was possibly named Judson and removed to CT where he married in 1831 in Hebron, CT and moved on to Montville, CT. The fact that he named his son Almon may be of some significance.
I am looking for any information on either Judson Perry specifically from the Herkimer County area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Another name that popped up in my research is a David Perry as having located in Herkimer County. Is there possibly any relation? Thank you, Kerry W. Holloway.

Page 39 of the 1850 census shows my gg-grandparents, Joseph & Nancy BRADWAY PHILIPS and their daughters, Hannah Orcellia Phillips and Eustacia Ann Phillips. I believe that both girls were born while Joseph & Nancy were living in Charleston. I find them in 1860 in the Town of Rotterdam, with a new son, Harmon Oswald, who was my g-grandfather. Hannah may have been born 1/3/1847 and Stacia in 1849. Searching for more information. Your web site is great. I note that the Town of Florida cemetary page has some Phillips that I would be interested in looking at. Would you let me know where Phillips Locks is? I would love to drive out there to see if I could access the site or not. Rose Penelope Phillips (Note: does anyone know if the cemetery still exists and how to get there?)

Mary was born in Herkimer Co. as was Nathan's wife, Nancy HARTMAN. Nathan and Mary produced Willett Hartman Phillips on September 20, 1850 in Syracuse. Willett had a sister, Emma, who married Henry ORMSBEE in August 1888. I am hoping to find Henry's parents' names and when they came to Herkimer County and where the family lived (the town).

QUACKENBUSH Family: I am attempting to trace a segment of the Peter QUACKENBUSH family that moved west to the Tryon County area and then down to Newark, New Jersey. A Mark PEARCE (a tailor located in Newark, NJ) married a Mary E. Qauckenbush in 1846 and had two children, Evaline Aurrila and David Henry Pearce before she died in 1858. Working from federal census records, her father appears to be David Quackenbush, a carpenter, who was listed in the Newark City directory as early as 1836. He died in 1865. David's wife was named Mahala and she died in 1877. They had three other children, a son who was older than Mary (maybe Abraham?), a son Henry C. and a daughter Martha.
Have checked all the available Quackenbush publications, and they are rather silent on the Quacks that moved to New Jersey. Gail Richard Quackenbush suggested that I try the Tryon or Montgomery County areas because of the high concentration of the name "David" Quack up there. I have researched all available publications for these counties, but find nothing on a David Quack family that moved to New Jersey. However, there certainly are numerous Quack family heads named David or Abraham that might fit the scenario! Can anyone help with this New Jersey connection?
