Look around this large site for answers or links we've provided to all those who can really help you. For all inquiries about your family, items you don't see on this site, or specific historical questions, we refer you in advance to the local societies and libraries.

IMPORTANT! All Montgomery County files were moved to a new server, and they're still being re-coded and reorganized. Many links within our town pages and footer links won't work yet, requiring that you use your back button. You'll have quite a few "files not found" - they're not lost but are being carefully put back into new locations, so ***please don't email that a link's not working for you***. We must change links and cross-links to files throughout the new Montgomery site to their new locations, re-install links to other websites, move files around, and re-code obsolete HTML code. This is a much BIGGER job than anticipated, and we appreciate your patience as we most carefully make these changes. ALL of the same content for Montgomery County NYGenWeb and special features from the previous combined Herkimer/Montgomery site will be set up again, but we can't give exact times and dates.

Our duties as GenWeb county site coordinators are limited to maintaining, coding and uploading information to this site, most of which is contributed by site visitors. Please use search engines such as google (which is what we'd have to do anyway), or direct all questions to societies and libraries listed on our historical articles page, or subscribe to a Rootsweb mailing list for your county of interest.
