Administration Bond

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That We Elizabeth Leonardson, John P. Yates and Robert S. Leonardson of the town of Root in the County of Montgomery, are held and firmly bound unto the People of the State of New-York, in the SUM of Eight hundred dollars current Money of the said State, to be paid to the said People: To the which Payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, and each of us, our and each of our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these Presents. Sealed with our Seals, dated the Twenty sixth Day of August in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and twenty five and of our Independence the fiftieth.

The Condition of this Obligation is such, That if the above bounden Elisabeth Leonardson Administrator of all singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of Abraham Leonardson deceased, do make or cause to be made, a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattles[sic] and Credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the Hands, Possession or Knowledge of the said Elisabeth Leonardson or into the Hands or Possession of any other Person or Persons for the said Elisabeth Leonardson and the same so made, do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Office of the Surrogate of the county of Montgomery at or before the expiration of Sex Calendar Months from the date of the Above written Obligation, and the same Goods, Chattels and Credits, and all other Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, at the time of his death, which at any time after shall come to the Hands or Possession of the said Elisabeth Leonardson do well and truly Administer according to Law: And further, when thereunto lawfully required, do make, or cause to be made, a just and true Account of Administration: And it shall hereafter appear, that any Last Will or Testament was made by the said deceased, and the Executor or Executors, therein named, or any Person or Persons, exhibit the same, and request to have it allowed and approved, then if the said Elisabeth Leonardson being thereunto required, do render and deliver the Letters of Administration granted on the Estate of the said deceased, to the Office from which they were issued, then this Obligation to be void and of none effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue. To the Surrogate of the County of Montgomery
The petition of Elisabeth Leonardson of the Town of Root in the County of Montgomery Respectfully Therewith, That your petitioner is the widow and relic of Abraham Leonardson late of said town of Root deceased, that the said Abraham Leonardson died in said town of Root in the month of July and that he was at the time of his death an inhabitant of said county of Montgomery : that the said dec'd man left no last will and testament so fat as your petitioners have been able to discover or has been that in the opinion of your petitioners is ???? that administration of the estate of the said deceased be granted to some discrete person.
And your petitioner further shows that all the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased do not exceed in value the sum of four hundred dollars. Your petitioners therefore rays that she may be appointed administratix of the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased & she will be.

The People of the State of New York by the Grace of God free and
independent. To Elisabeth Leonardson widow and relic of Abraham
Leonardson late of the town of Root in the County of Montgomery, send Greeting.

Whereas the said Abraham Leonardson as is alleged lately died intestate, having whilst living and at the time of his death, goods, chattels and credits within this State, by means whereof the ordering and granting administration of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits, and also of the auditing, allowing and finally discharging the account thus: doth appertain unto us: and we being ??.. that the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased may be well and faithfully administrated, ??..ed and disposed of, do grant unto you the said Elisabeth Leonardson full power by these presents, to administer and faithfully to dispose of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits ? to ask, demand, recover and receive the debts which unto the said deceased whilst living, and at the time of his death, did belong, and to pay the debts which the said deceased did owe, so far as such goods, chattels and credits will thereto extend and the law require. Hereby requiring you to make a course to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to your hands, possession or knowledge, and the same so make to exhibit or cause to be exhibited into the office of the Surrogate of the said County of Montgomery at or before the expiration of six calendar months from the date hereof; and also to hinder a just and true account of Administrations where therewith required. And we do by these presents de?.., constitute and appoint you the said Elisabeth Leonardson administratix of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits so?. were of the said Abraham Leonardson.
