Timothy Lenardson (1789-1826). He was married to his first cousin, Wyntje Lenardson Van Alstyne. Timothy was the son of James and (H)Ester (Marinus) Lenardson and Wyntje was the daughter of Cornelius J. Van Alstyne and Margaret/Marigrieta Lenardson. After Timothy's death, Wyntje married John Printup.

I am the 4th great grandniece and first cousin five times removed of Timothy and the first cousin six times removed of his wife, Wyntje. Mimi Malcolm




Timothy Lenardson, (1789-1826) Book 3, p. 107

The people of the State of New York, by the grace of God, free and independent. To John C. Van Alstine of the town of Glen in the County of Montgomery send Greeting. Whereas Timothy Lenardson of the town of Root in said County of Montgomery, or is alleged, lately died intestate, having whilst living, and at the time of his death, goods, chattels & credits within this State, by means whereof, the ordering and granting administration of all and singular the said goods, chattels, and credits, and ____? of the auditing, allowing and fiscally discharging the account thereof doth ___? unto us: and we being desirous that the goods, chattels an credits of the said deceased may be well and faithfully administrated, applied and disposed of, do grant unto you the said John C. Van Alstine full power by the resents to administer, and faithfully to dispose of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits ___ to ask, demand, recover and receive the ____s which unto the said deceased, whilst living, and as to time of his death, did belong, and to pay the debts, which the said deceased did owe, so far as such goods, chattels and credits will Extend and the law require. Honestly requiring you to make or cause to be made a true and present inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to your hand, ____ or knowledge, and the same so made to exhibit or cause to be exhibited into the office of the Surrogate of the said County of Montgomery at or before the expiration of six calendar months from the date hereof, and also to render a just and true account of administrations where thereunto required. And we do by the presents do depute and appoint you the said John C. Van Alstine administrator of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits which were of the said Timothy Lenardson deceased. In testimony whereof, we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be here to affixed. Witness: Tobias A. Note: Daniel A. Hawley was married to Maria Lenardson, the daughter of John Timothy Lenardson and Magdalina Meighly/Meagley. Maria was born on September 21, 1813. Her great great grandparents were John T. Lenardson and Ann/Nancy Stanhouse.

To all the whom this presents Shall come Greeting them Ye: That Daniel A. Hawley and Maria Hawley his wife, Elias S. Johnson and Catharine Johnson his wife, Timothy Johnson Leonardson, John Leonardson and Elmira Leonardson by John Cumming and Daniel A. Hawley their duly appointed agents and attorneys in a power recorded in Montgomery County Clerks office in Book of Miscellaneous Records p. 275C, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars Lawful Money of the United States of America to them in hand paid by Jacob Sykes[?] of the town of Glen in said County afor. before the ensealing and delivery of these presents to receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have devised, released and forever quit Claimed, and by these presents do devise, release and forever quit Claim unto Jacob S. Glen and to his heirs and assigns forever. All that certain piece or parcel of land situate in the said town of Glen and bounded as follows, on the North by lands of Jacob J. Schuyler, East by the Patent line between the Patent of Robert Livingston and the Patent of Arch'd Kennedy and James DeGaucy & others, South by the highway along the lands of Mathuis Stowit and west by the lands of Peter Van Evera, lands of William S. Schuyler, lands of the heirs of Rufus Dodge and lands of John Edwards Containing fifty acres of land More or less, forty four acres or thereabout of which land is now in possession of William S. Schuyler, six acres of thereabout are now in possession of Jacob Pruiyn. To have and to hold the said released premises unto the said Jacob Sykes, his heirs and assigns to their proper use and behoove forever. In Testimony whereof the said parties of the first part by their Said Agents and Attorneys have hereunto Set their hands and Seals this twenty Sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred fifty Eight.

On the 26 day of May 1858 before me personally came John Cumming & David A. Hawley and acknowledged that they had personally Executed the within instrument as the a said deed of Catharine Johnson, Maria Hawley, Almira Leonardson, Timothy Leonardson, John Leonardson and Elias L. Johnson, therein described by (John C. Van Alstine ?) of a power of Attorney duly Executed by the Said Catharine Johnson and Elias L. Johnson bearing the date the 13th day of Sept. 1853 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County of Montgomery. And I further certify that I know the Said John Cumming and David A. Hawley who made the Said acknowledgement to be the same persons who Executed the within instrument. Gary O Crone.[?] Justice of the Peace

Inventory of the Estate of Timothy Lenardson [sic] deceased

Mr. John Lenardson Jun. & James G. Van Voast do Solemnly swear and declare that we will truly, honestly and impartially appraise the personal property of Timothy Lenardson deceased according to the best of our knowledge and ability.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the goods, chattels and credits of Timothy Lenardson deceased made on the 16th day of February 1827 with the aid and in the presence of John Lenardson Jun. & James G. Van Voast ----- two Sworn appraisers to wit---- the following is property which by law belongs to the widow - and which I hereby give unto his -----

What follows is a 3 page listing of inventory. Timothy had sheep, hogs, cows, and fowl. He had 2 horse blankets but no horses are listed in the inventory. Items of interest include a Bible, a loom and yarn, a book "Young Man Help" and 2 tobacco jars.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we John C. Van Alstine & Patrick W. Archbald of the town of Glen and Peter Stowit of the town of Johnstown, all of the County of Montgomery are held and firmly bound unto the People of the State of New-York, in the SUM of six hundred dollars Current Money of said State, to be paid to the said People: To the which Payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, and each of us, our and each of our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these Presents. Sealed with our Seals, date the fifth Day of January in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and twenty seven and of our Independence the fifty first.

The Condition of this Obligation is such, That if the above bounded John C. Van Alstine Administrator of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of Timothy Lenardson

Deceased, do make or cause to be made, a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the Hands, Possession or Knowledge of the said John C. Van Alstine, or into the Hands or Possession of any other Person or Persons for the said John C. Van Alstine and the same so made, do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Office of the Surrogate of the county of Montgomery at or before the expiration of Six Calendar Months from the date of the above written Obligation, and the same Goods, Chattels and Credits, and all other Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, at the time of his death, which at any time after shall come to the Hands of Possession of the said John C, Van Alstine do well and truly Administer according to Law. And further, when thereunto lawfully required, do make, or cause to be made, a just and true Account of Administration: And if it shall hereafter appear, that any Last Will or Testament was made by the said deceased, and the Executor or Executors, therein named, or any Person or Persons, do exhibit the same, and request to have it allowed and approved, then if the said John C. Van Alstine being thereunto required, do render and deliver the Letters of Administration granted on the Estate of the said deceased, to the Office from which they were issued, then this Obligation to be void and of none effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.

To the Surrogate of the County of Montgomery- The petition of John C. Van Alstine of the town of Glen in the said County of Montgomery

Thus Timothy Lenardson deceased died in the town of Root in said County of Montgomery in the Month of September or October last past, that as the time of his decease he was an inhabitant of our county of Montgomery: that the said deceased has left no last will & testament, as far as your petition has been able to discover or have found: that in the opinion of your petition it is necessary that administration of the estate of the said deceased be granted to some discrete person - that Winity Lenardson the widow of the said deceased has this day come to be filed in this court her ____ciation of the administration of the Estate of the said deceased in which She has requested that administration may be granted to your petitioner - And your petitioner further ________

That all the goods, chattels & credits of the said deceased do not exceed in value the sum of three hundred dollars. Your petitioner therefore prays that he may be appointed administrator of the goods, Chattels and audits of the said deceased & will sever pray-
