SNOW, Rebeckah b. Oct 1, 1791 Providence, RI. Family seems to have moved from RI to NY 1795-1810. At Broadalbin, Mont. Co. NY she married Thomas FORCE PALMER. His family had come to NY about the same time from Woodbridge NJ. Rebeckah's Snow Palmer's dates and spelling of name comes from her gravestone. Few other details, though at times descendants spelled name Rebecca. TFP and RS lived at Genesee, Montgomery, Wyoming, Cattauragus counties until about 1835, then to Medina Co OH, briefly to IN, and by 1837 were at Sugar Grove, Kane Co. IL; by 1852 to LaSalle Co, IL where their two sons lived. RS died there Oct 27, 1854 and Thomas 1862. 1790 RI census lists 10 Snow families! William, Jasiah, Samuel, Sarah, Daniel, James, Joseph, Joseph. NY 1790 Mont. Co. Census also lists Joseph Snow!! Anyone know anything about him? Ancestors, parents, etc. children? Thomas and Rebeckah's 1st son was named Joseph Snow Palmer. So were one of the Joseph's in RI census 1790 the father of RS? 1820 Mont. Co census Thomas F. Palmer is living next to Sameul Force. Is he the brother or possibly father of Rebeckah. Appreciate any info. Peter Burrows.

Zedekiah SOUTH, b. 28 Dec 1755 @ East Windsor Twp. Middlesex Co. NJ., d. 19 Oct 1835 Montgomery Co., NY. Married abt. 1783 probably in NJ. to Mary McCABE, b. 11 Feb 1759, d. 16 Mar 1829 Glen, Montgomery, NY. Her parents were James McCabe and Mary HUGHS. They had five children I am sure of and possibly two others. They are as follows :

Some of these dates are from Caugnawaga Dutch Ref. Church of Fonda, NY. Birth date and place from Rev. War Records of Zedekiah South. Children are from family Bible in possesion of Leo Dygert of NY. (dead I think) I would like all the information I can get on these people and will be happy to exchange what I have. Oh yes, Zedekiah had a brother Lippincott South who married Edith McCabe, a sister of Mary McCabe. He is listed in the 1810 Census of Montgomery Co. with Zedekiah .

Zedekiah SOUTH came to Glen, Montgomery County, NY about 1800. He and his wife Mary McCABE had at least 5 children:

Most of the bapt. and marr. were either done, or recorded, at Dutch Reformed Church of Caughnawaga, Fonda, NY. I am searching for anything I can find about these families. Zedekiah South, Rev. War Vet , is supposed to have been buried in Montgomery County, but I can't find him or his brother Lippincott South.

I would be interested in finding dates of death of Charles and Bridgit SPAIN. Would like to know where they are buried and where in Ireland they originally came from. I know they emigrated from Ireland ca 1830 and their oldest son Stephen was born in Ireland ca 1829. All other children born Schuyler, Herkimer Co. from ca 1831-ca 1840. He probably died in Schuyler after 1880 and she probably died before 1880 in Herkimer Co., again probably in Schuyler Town.

Hello from St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. I am researching the SPRAGUE surname. Elkanah Sprague was born in Winham Ct., married Mehitable MOULTON in Windham Conn. in 1754 and died in Gloversville, N.Y. His son, Vine Sprague, was married to Mary SHERWIN about 1793. They died within two weeks of each other in Mayfield in 1813 in an epidemic. They left children: Irene, Vine, Jr., Harriet, John, Lyman, and Mary. I would like to trace John Sprague who married Matilda COE approx. 1820, possibly in the Skaneateles area of Onondaga County. They had a son, Horace Edward Sprague who married Nancy Emily TORREY in Lockport, Will-Grundy County, Illinois.

STAFFORD: Looking for the descendants of John Stafford and Martha Eldridge Stafford. They had two sons; Stephen Stafford b. ca. 1867 and Frederick Stafford b. ca. 1861. At one time Martha Eldridge Stafford had in her possession an ELDRIDGE or a FORD Bible. In this bible was information on a Derinda Eygenbroat or Derinda Eygenbroat Eldridge born 8 Aug 1827/29. She married James BURKE in 1853. It is possible that Derenda was an illegitimate daughter of Amanda Ford. Our family records do not give her father's name. It was possibly EYGENBROART. Thanks for any help.

Looking for birth info of my g-grandmother Tryphena TAYLOR (maiden name) born 5 Feb 1833 in Herkimer County. Do not have parents' names. Tryphena's listing on 1850 census states her father was from England and her mother from NH, but no names have surfaced yet. Her husband was Ambrose D. TURNER, who was born in Maine, but I don't know if they marr. in Wisconsin or where yet. She was a teacher in Sheboygan on 1850 census there, not married. Ambrose lived in Lake Co. IL, but I have not been able to run down their marr. certificate in either state as yet. They soon after marriage moved to Boone Co. IL, where they both died. On her death certificate, there are no parents listed either. We have searched 1830 and 1840 census as well.

TEFFT, Daniel: Daniel Tefft was born in 1796. In the 1850 census he had a farm in St Johnsville, Montgomery County, New York. Daniel married Elizabeth VAN ALLEN born 1802. They married 10 March 1844. He was 48, and Elizabeth was 42 when they married. In the1850 census there were 2 Van Allen children living with them - Warren 14 and Lyman 11. I don't know if Elizabeth Van Allen was her maiden name or her married name from a previous marriage. I am assuming that this was not a first marriage for either. My great-grandfather Franklin THURSTON - his parents were Rhoda and Moses - came to eastern Ontario from Herkimer County in the late 1800's. It's now a possibility that, despite tombstone evidence, "Franklin" Thurston could have been christened "Francis", so maybe I should just be looking for "Frank's" family to be more encompassing. Would appreciate hearing of other family lines which may have sprung from his numerous siblings.
