I'm searching for the parents of Andrew K. VAN ALLEN, born Montgomery County, New York 6 June 1830. Married Ester ANGUS on 18 August 1854. Andrew died and is buried in Little Falls, New York 17 June 1886. Andrew had an older sister Catharine, born 1829. There were 2 younger brothers, Warren (1836), and Lyman (1839). We think that they were orphaned before 1850. That's where I'm stuck. All help greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information about Augustus Van SLYKE. He was born May 22, 1777 in Herkimer Co. NY. He died Nov. 21, 1864 in Ashford, NY. He married Nancy Ann FRANK, daughter of Andrew Frank.

Catherine Benjamin Mon Apr 14 1997
My gggg-grandfather was Augustus VanSLYKE, born May 22, 1777. Augustus came to Cattaraugus Co. in about 1830 with Henry FRANK. Augustus married Henry's granddaughter Nancy Eve. A family member thought Augustus was the son of Peter (son of Jess) born 1763. This would have made Peter only 14 when Augustus was born. Seems unlikely! Augustus named his children: Martin, Mary "Polly", Elizabeth, Henry, John, and Andrew (My ggg-grandfather). I am also interested in the Frank family from Frankfort. I am also looking for the children of a Jeremiah MEACHAM who resided in Montgomery Co. in 1790. Any information would be appreciated.

Andrew Vrooman, son of Peter MEESE VROOMAN and Lucretia Van SCHOONHOVAN, was born 3 March 1827 in Montgomery County. Peter Meese Vrooman settled in the Town of Glen in 1837. Andrew married as his 2nd wife, Martha PALMATIER, about 1858/59. In the 1900 census Andrew was enumerated in the Town of Glen, age 73, without Martha in the household. He died 2 November 1905, presumably in Glen, yet the NYS Archives does not have a record of his death. Might he be buried in the Glen Cemetery? Otherwise, what records in Montgomery County might be available that would confirm his death date? Please email me at DAS7901@aol.com Thanks. Dan Stifflear (former Schoharie County native, now living near Tampa, FL).
